Terms of use

Effective October 26, 2026

By using CivicPrep (operated by Invisible Remark LLC) (“the site”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

A study aid, not legal advice

The site is a free educational tool for practicing the U.S. naturalization civics test. It does not give legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship. Nothing on the site tells you whether you are eligible for citizenship, which test you will take, or how to fill out any form.

For advice about your own case, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative.

Not affiliated with the government

The site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency.

Do your own research

We take the questions and accepted answers from official USCIS lists and try to keep them current, but we can’t promise that everything on the site is complete, accurate, or up to date. Answers about officeholders change after elections, appointments, resignations and deaths, and USCIS can change the test at any time. In particular:

  • Always confirm the current questions and answers at uscis.gov/citizenship and the official test updates page.
  • Check your own U.S. senators, representative and governor yourself. Your representative depends on your exact address, which the site doesn’t know.
  • The multiple-choice practice test is not the real test. The real civics test is oral, and the officer may accept or reject answers differently.
  • Wrong answer choices, explanations, photos and scores are written or chosen by us, not by USCIS.

Doing well on the site does not mean you will pass your interview. You are responsible for your own preparation.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We may change, pause or remove the site or any part of it at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, CivicPrep and the people who run it are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or other damages arising from your use of the site or your reliance on anything on it, including the outcome of any immigration application or interview. Some places don’t allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

Other websites and photos

The site links to other websites, such as uscis.gov, senate.gov and house.gov. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for them. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under their own licenses, listed on the photo credits page; showing a photo doesn’t mean anyone pictured endorses the site.

Voluntary support

You can choose to support the site with a payment through Stripe. Support is voluntary and optional; everything on the site stays free either way. It is a gift to help cover costs, not a purchase, so you don’t receive goods or services in return, and it is not tax-deductible. Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s terms.

Acceptable use

Please don’t try to break, overload or copy the site in bulk, or use it for anything unlawful.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
